Operation of Research Pilot Schools

A. Purpose

  • Supporting enrichment of public education by researching and pilot operating the problems of the education in the field
  • Raising the quality of education by solving the problems faced with the education and efficient application of the education course
  • Promoting generalization of the result of the research pilot school and balanced development of education
2-1-1 Training of teachers for the Research School and distribution of a guidance
  • When: February
  • For whom: Deputy principals, heads of the dept. in charge, teacher in charge, etc. of Research Schools
  • What: Guidance for the operation direction and administrative preparations for Research School including the preparation of Research School operation plan, preparation guide for research verification and reports thereof, methods to publish the research results and prepare the materials, etc.
2-1-2 Research School Experts Support Unit Meeting
  • When: March, November
  • For whom: Research School experts (from the Office of Education, regional Office of Education, the Service, etc.)
  • What
    • Method of Research School-related stepwise guidance and report guidance (March)
    • Operation of Research School and Joint Report Meeting result review and feedback (November)
2-1-3 Customized consulting by research step by Expert Supporting Unit and On-site Experts
  • When: March ~ December
  • For whom: Research Schools
  • What
    • Planning stage(March ~ April): Correction and supplement of the plan via self-discussion meeting in each school; Consulting at the Gwangju Educational Research & Information Service
    • Practice stage(May ~ June): Check school's research environments and implementation situation by research task as well as class observation, etc.
    • Report stage(October ~ November): Open class observation, discussion meeting, etc.
    • Report stage and generalization stage(October ~ December): Open class and report meeting by each school (Implement in line with the Customized Teacher On-site Training), launching of the Research School achievements-related network, etc.
    • ※ Collecting experts by each research topic among the on-site teachers (Ph.Ds, etc.) and previous year's Research School-related staff to form a consultant pool and provide for the Research Schools.
2-1-4 Activation of observation of Research School open classes
  • For whom: Research Schools
  • Operation of Month of Open Class Observation: 1st semester (May ~ June), 2nd semester (October ~ November)
    • 1st semester (May ~ June): Open class relating to the Research School topic and discussion meeting; observation of the open class by each research area
    • 2nd semester(October ~November): For the completed Research Schools, recommend to have an open class led by the principal and to have class sharing, panel discussion, seminar, workshop, etc.
    • ※ To enhance generalization of the achievement of Research Schools, they will be operated linked with Teacher On-site Customized Job Training for the Report Meeting in the 2nd semester
2-1-5 Research Schools Exemplar Case promotion and generalization
